about the carols
Carols@Northbridge is
a free community carols evening organised by the combined
Christian churches of Northbridge. This year the event
will take place again at Northbridge
Oval where it was held for the first time in
2009. Come along between 6:00pm and 6:30pm and join the celebration:
bring family and friends and a picnic to share. The
carol singing program usually begins at 6:45pm, and
will conclude by 8:30pm.
The Northbridge Carols Band will accompany our community
carol singing, with items performed by the children's from Northside Baptist Preschool, St Mark's Anglican Preschool and Shore School. We'll also have a
special children's presentation by Emma Collett from Youthworks. GLOWSTIX will
be available for children to wave as darkness falls.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy!
Rev Sid Grindley, one of the original organisers of
the event, has said, "The event is a great opportunity
for families to get together and have a picnic and join
in with the Christmas celebrations the event
is unashamedly centered around the birth of Jesus and
we have received remarks on how refreshing it is to
leave behind many of the commercial interests that Christmas
now attracts."
Willoughby City Council has supported this
event since its inception in 2009, and the organisers
very much appreciate their involvement.
We also appreciate the generous financial contributions
offered by the Northbridge Branch of the Commonwealth
Bank, Borruso's Pizza & Pasta and Richardson & Wrench Real Estate. |
